Ceywater has a long history of active involvement in all aspects of water supply engineering, Urban Infrastructure Development, Project Management, Contract Administration and Construction Supervision Some of the major works carried out are listed thus:

JBIC assisted Water Supply for Towns North of Colombo (TNC)

Ceywater together with Parsons Engineering Science of USA provided Project Management Services for the entire project and Design & Construction Supervision services for a specified number of complex projects only, to the UDSP.

The project was focused to strengthen and provide improved infrastructure services, the technical, institutional and financial capacities of 17 selected Urban Local Authorities scattered throughout the Island , at a cost of US$ 36 Million.

The Design and Construction of High Priority Roads, Bridges and Intersections, Storm Water Drainage Systems and Water Supply infillings, low income area upgrading were the major components of infrastructure provided under the Project.

lthough, essentially this was a Project Management package, Ceywater was called upon to take over some of the complex sub projects for design and documentation.

Further, review of design work by the Design Consultants was part of the package, particularly in storm water & roads & bridges sectors.

Training of ULA staff both Administrative and Technical Personnel for improved management, production of base maps using aerial surveys, development of Software for ULA needs, their usage with relevant training were integral components of the project.

Augmentation of Water Supply Schemes in Ampara, Nawalapitiya and Koggala and Koggala Sewerage Scheme in association with GKW of Germany

Ceywater Consultancy Package included detailed designs and tender documentation for Water Intake Treatment Plant and Distribution Systems of 3 Major Urban Local Authorities having a population of over 100,000.

Urban Development & Low Income Housing Project

Ceywater was involved with Nippon Jego Suido Sekki of Japan as the Lead Consultant to provide Project Management Consultancy services to Urban Development & Low Income Housing Project (UDLIHP) with a project cost of US$ 100 Million.

The Project was intended to provide improvements to infrastructure of 27 major Urban Local Authorities in 7 Provinces covering Roads, Storm Water Drainage, Water Supply, Town Centres and Bus Terminii and Area upgrading of Low Income Households.

eywater Consultants provided consultancy services for land development, including physical planning, design and construction of roads, storm water drainage network, sewerage scheme, water supply distribution and so on for Board of Investment of Sri Lanka. The total cost of the Project was Rs 117 Million.

ADB assisted Third Water Supply & Sanitation Sector Project “ Package C”

The Ceywater Consultants in association with Groner, of Norway were engaged to carry out water resources management studies on four major rivers of the Island running through 6 large districts and groundwater studies in two other districts.

ADB assisted Third Water Supply & Sanitation Sector Project “ Package A”

The Ceywater in association with COWI, Denmark are providing consultancy services to support in the Water Supply Augmentation and protection of existing sources including springs and wells.

It also envisages to provide appropriate technologies for small pipe borne water schemes, rehabilitation of urban water supply schemes and augmentation of Anuradhapura Town Water Supply Scheme. In the sanitation sector, the provision of new and rehabilitation of individual and public latrines are included. A significant component of the project is to design and implement community awareness campaigns, training for local community mobilizations and support to CGOs and LGAs. Further it covers the study of the environmental impact assessment for the water supply & sanitation sector and carry out benefit monitoring and evaluation studies of sub projects.

ADB funded Secondary Towns Water Supply & Sanitation Project

Ceywater provided Consultancy services with Coffey , Australia to carry out feasibility studies for Urban Water Supply Projects in Greater Battticoloa, Polonnaruwa, Muttur, Hambantota and Matara towns together with project preparation for North Central Province Rural Water Supply & Sanitation. It also included the preparation of Institutional development component for water sector, including Private Sector Participation and regulatory body, public awareness, training and information technology for Hambantota, Monaragala and Polonnaruwa districts for water resources assessment were also carried out.

Technical Assistance Programme (PPTA) for the Urban Development & Low Income Housing Project

Ceywater provided most of the local consultancy services with 16 experts to a Consortium of International Consultants comprising PADCO of USA, GHK and BTI of UK, recruited by the ADB. The work involved the study of existing infrastructure facilities in 51 Urban Local Authorities including their financial and human resources available as at the time of study.

The objective was to select the specific number of ULAS having the highest potential for economic growth given the necessary infrastructure facilities together with the institutional and financial strengthening of such ULAs.

Consultancy services included the study of existing water supply & distribution system and propose changes and additions needed to supply water requirement for drinking and of other logistical purposes including supply of quality water for aircrafts.
